SENSITIVE ECO SYSTEM
World Land Trust
The initiative to save 3763 hectares of uncontaminated nature.
- To protect one of the last remaining rainforests.
- To save more than a thousand species of animals at risk of extinction.
- Our commitment: 1 Metre of Fabric for 1 Metre of Forest.
Our Company, Eurojersey, is taking part in the initiative launched by the
World Land Trust to protect the natural environment in one of the
remotest areas of north-east Argentina: the Yabotì Biosphere Reserve.
The SensitivEcoSystem® label on our products guarantees that for every
metre of fabric sold we will save a metre of the Rainforest in Argentina.
The World Land Trust and a forest in need of saving
In a faraway corner of Argentina, there is still a strip of uncontaminated Atlantic rainforest with its biodiversity still intact. We have decided to protect this vital resource by supporting the initiative of the World Land Trust , which acts to protect forests and other important wild habitats in the third world.
The new SensitivEcoSystem® challenge:1 Metre of fabric for 1 Metre of forest
With the SensitivEcoSystem® project, as of the 1st of January 2010, EUROJERSEY has committed to protect 1 Metre of rainforest for every Metre of Sensitive® fabric sold.
The SensitivEcoSystem® label certifies that consumers will have contributed to the protection of a part of the forest when they purchase an item of clothing made with our fabric.
The partnership with the World Land Trust is an integral part of the SensitivEcoSystem® programme, our pioneer eco-sustainable project in the ladderproof fabric industry.
Nature is a resource that must be preserved
The World Land Trust is a non-profit organisation set up in 1989 with the aim of transforming areas with habitats showing exceptional levels of biodiversity that are at risk into protected nature reserves. This project was started by the World Land Trust in Argentina, in the faraway region of Misiones between Brazil and Paraguay, a surprising territory with unusual plant species and many animal species that are at risk of extinction.
An untouched territory with incredible vegetation
The area involved in the World Land Trust project that EUROJERSEY is involved with is an area of 3,763 hectares of uncontaminated rainforest in the Yaboti Biosphere Reserve. It is a strategic location because, once implemented, the project will connect three existing parks: Mocona State Park, Esmeralda Park and Parquedo Turbo in Brazil, together they will make up a large tract of protected rainforest 60,000 hectares in size. This is a significant result that we would like to be tangibly involved with through our SensitivEcoSystem® project.
